The Hidden Story Of Jesus

Posted by: Bill    in Movies, Polemics

Originally aired in the United Kingdom on BBC 4. The narrator is theologian Dr. Robert Beckford. Waiving further comment, I’ll let the video speak for itself.

More Anti-Israel Ties To Obama

   Posted by: Bill    in Politics

Yet another anti-Israel anti-Zionist association from Barack Obama’s past. Would any fellow Jew PLEASE explain to me why I should still vote for this guy? I’m serious – PLEASE tell me why Jews should vote for Obama!

Note: the original video I had embedded has been removed by YouTube. I’ve tracked down a more complete version of the video with Daniel Pipes appearing on Hannity’s America

Here is the original LA Times article showing Obama’s association with, and praise of, Khalidi, where the LA Times characterizes Palestinians as having a friend in Obama.

Here is the Fox News story showing that the LA Times is deliberately refusing to release the tape of Obama praising Khalidi. Note that Fox News has also removed this article as well. Hmmm… I’ve posted Google’s cache of the article below after the break, as well as much more material.

UPDATE: This also has been released by The Schnitt Show based on an article by Andrew McCarthy at National Review:

The Collective Memory

   Posted by: Bill    in Politics

You know, one of the great things about the Internet is that it never seems to forget what happened in the past. I am inclined to send a personal “thank-you” note to Former Vice president Al Gore for his crowning invention. Such archival tools are great for helping us recognize the history behind what we’re experiencing today.

Attached is an article that I received from a friend. It was originally published by The New York Times on September 30th, 1999 titled “Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending“. I have provided the link to the archived article as well as a PDF printout of the report. I think it will go a long way toward explaining the economic pain that “Main Street” is feeling today and where this pain originates. A word of warning however: The New York Times is considered a very liberal newspaper and is frequently unfriendly to Conservative political standings. Nonetheless I think this article is very important reading.

The archived article is here.

The PDF printout is here.

Here are some of the more interesting quotes in the article:

“In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders. “

“Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people”

“But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980’s.”

So the $64,000 question is this – are you still blaming this crisis on the Bush Administration?

Time For Some Campaignin’!

Looks like the folks over at JibJab are at it again! Have a peek at this rather funny little video. I think you’ll get a smile out of it regardless where you sit on the political spectrum.

Shalom Bruce!

   Posted by: Bill    in Music

Before the sombre and penitent mood of Yom Kippur begins this evening, I felt inclined to post a tribute to my friend Bruce. In spite of the numerous benefits of living in beautiful and tropical Cleveland Ohio, Bruce elected to shlep his family to dreary old California. By now he should be well settled-in under the cheerless skies of the West Coast. In his honor (and to hopefully add some much-needed cheer) I present the appropriate surfer music, with just a touch of tribute from the Jewish friend he left behind.

(Seriously Chris, knock ‘em dead out there!)

For my Gentile Brothers and Sisters, this is “Hava Nagila” done “Misirlou” style.

Are you kidding me?

   Posted by: Bill    in Politics

Just saw this video on YouTube. This should absolutely scare the daylights out of anyone. According to the YouTube posting (here) this was performed by students at the Urban Community Leadership Academy in Kansas City, MO. Before beginning their “praises” of Barak Obama, they enter the room in militaristic fashion chanting “Alpha … Omega” over and over. I imagine that such a connotation would not be lost on Christian audiences…

Click the link below to download, just in case this goes “off the air”:

[UPDATE] No big surprise, but its suddenly off the air at YouTube. Use the link below to download the movie, and play it in RealPlayer.
[UPDATE2] Looks like someone else has posted it on YouTube now. Updated video link above.

Spirit of the Age

Posted by: Bill    in Debunked!, Polemics

Quite some time ago I created a page entitled “Zeitgeist Astronomy – What Planet Are You From?“. The purpose behind this page was to debunk many of the astrotheological claims made by the internet movie Zeitgeist. Much of the astronomy and astrology used in part one of this movie is simply incorrect and has drawn from numerous authors who propound the astrotheology concept as the basis for the Christian religion. A cursory look at celestial mechanics shows that these authors are either ignorant or wilfully deceptive.

In honor of the upcoming release of the sequel to this film, I’ve linked my original page here. Please note that the page only concerns part one of the Zeitgeist movie. I’ll leave parts two and three to those who are more versed in these issues.

And So It Begins…

   Posted by: Bill    in Uncategorized

At long last, “Virtual Bill’s Web Site” has been retired to the all-consuming backup drive, only to be replaced by the genius of WordPress. I quickly came to realize that much of what I was doing on my previous pages lent itself to a more blog-like format. The result of this realization lies before your very eyes – I hope you enjoy it!
